The Civometra Index is BestCityToLive’s developing framework for comparing the conditions that shape everyday urban life. It combines five pillars with a published methodology and reproducible scoring rules.
Civometra (siv-oh-MET-ruh) combines civic life with measurement. Use “Civometra Index” on first reference and “Civometra” thereafter.
Current release status
2026 Q4 research edition · Methodology v1.0.0 · Published 11 October 2026. Official city scores and quarterly winners have not yet been released. The existing city rankings are the legacy baseline dated 7 August 2025.
How to cite the current work

Link to the methodology and state the edition. For a future results story, include the release date, data cutoff, eligible city cohort and model version. A rank applies to the covered cities, not every city in the world. Small score differences may not justify a strong claim about quality of life.
